Classroom Expectations:
Behavior Expectations:
- Our primary goals everyday are to be respectful, responsible, and safe. We value each other in this classroom, so we model our respect in a variety of ways:
- We raise our hand to speak, so everyone has a chance to express ideas.
- We listen to others when they speak because we want people to listen to us.
- We remember that mistakes happen to all of us. Please be polite when a mistake happens to another person in class. We can be helpful with correcting mistakes of others, but we need to do it in a respectful manner. Mistakes are how we learn.
- Daily attendance is important for keeping up with the lessons and work.
- Students are encouraged to volunteer in class to ask and answer questions. Students may also be called upon by the teacher to answer (with appropriate wait time given to formulate answers).
- Homework is important. Completing assignments to practice our new skills is the way that we learn and build upon our previous knowledge. The work that is assigned to you is important to your learning. Your individual work provides me with information about your understanding, and it is a valuable way for you to have feedback about your own learning too.
- All homework will be posted in Google Classroom (under the “Classwork” tab). Materials and notes will also be provided under the same tab, organized by unit. Please check Google Classroom when you are absent for updates on what was covered while you were not in class.
